About the Qualification – CPC30120
This qualification reflects the role of shopfitters who construct or renovate commercial premises such as retail or office environments.
It includes the skills and knowledge required to work safely using tools and equipment and to apply information from plans and drawings to fabricate, assemble and fix shop fronts and install internal units and partitions.
Packaging Rules – 18 Units consisting of 12 Core and 6 Electives
Core Units – All Core units must be completed and cannot be changed.
- Use carpentry tools and equipment
- Identify and apply information in construction plans, drawings and specifications
- Process materials to produce components using static machines
- Carry out levelling operations
- Apply WHS requirements, policies, and procedures in the construction industry
- Fabricate shopfitting components using CNC machines
- Fabricate and assemble shopfront structures
- Assemble and install shopfront structures
- Assemble internal shopfitting units and prepare for transport.
- Apply and trim decorative additions to shop fittings and components.
- Install prefabricated internal shopfitting units.
- Install internal shop walls and fixtures.
Elective Units
- Prepare shop fittings and surfaces and apply liquid finishes.
- Demolish shopfronts and bulkheads.
- Prepare shop floors for new coverings.
- Install suspended ceilings.
- Investigate business opportunities.
- Manage finances for new business ventures.
