Certificate III in Demolition

About the Qualification – CPC30420

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of specialist demolition workers who dismantle and demolish public, residential, commercial, and industrial structures of all types, and process the resulting materials for salvage, recycling, and waste disposal.

Packaging Rules – 20 Units consisting of 11 Core and 9 Electives 

Core Units – All Core units must be completed and cannot be changed.

• Work safely at heights.
• Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies.
• Select and use hand tools and equipment for demolition tasks.
• Select and use small plant and equipment for demolition tasks.
• Demolish small buildings and structures using hand tools and small plant and equipment.
• Select and use tools and equipment for hot work in the demolition industry.
• Read and interpret demolition site plans and drawings.
• Carry out measurements and calculations.
• Apply WHS requirements, policies, and procedures in the construction industry.
• Shift materials safely using manual handling methods.
• Handle dangerous goods/hazardous substances

Elective Units

• Enter and work in confined spaces .
• Conduct civil construction excavator operations
• Repsond to site based spills
• Operate skid steer loaders at ground level on demotition sites
• Work as a spotter / safety observer
• Remove non – friable asbestos
• Remove friable asbestos.
• Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)
• Apply decorative finishes to concrete
