Certificate III in Trenchless Technology reflects the role of a skilled operator working in trenchless technology in the civil construction industry.

Trenchless technology consists of the methods, materials, and equipment used for replacing, rehabilitating, or installing pipes with little or no excavation of the ground above.

It also makes it possible to install the utilities under rivers, highways, canals, civil works and other obstacles with no disruption of flow and with minimum or no damage to the environment.

Packaging Rules – 26 Units consisting of 9 Core and 17 Electives 

Core Units – All Core units must be completed and cannot be changed.

• Plan and organise work.
• Carry out measurements and calculations.
• Identify, locate and protect underground services.
• Read and interpret plans and job specifications.
• Communicate in the workplace.
• Maintain site records.
• Apply risk management processes.
• Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures.
• Enter and work in confined spaces.

Elective Units on offer ( choose 17 ) 

• Use specialised liquid bulk transfer equipment (gravity/pressurised)
• Estimate/calculate mass, area and quantify dimensions.
• Apply fatigue management strategies.
• Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)
• Conduct vacuum excavations
• Carry out manual excavation
• Work effectively with diversity
• Inspect sewer or stormwater line.
• Spread and compact materials manually
• Carry out basic levelling.
• Carry out concrete work.
• Install trench support.
• Lay pipes
• Undertake localised repair and sealing of existing pipeline systems.
• Operate a vehicle loading crane.
• Respond to site-based spills.
• Use hand and power tools.
