About the Qualification – CPC30719

This qualification is designed for everyone engaged in waste management who are involved in the collection and processing of waste and recycables across various sectors, including government, municipal, commercial, industrial, construction, and demolition.

Roles within the waste management industry typically fall into two main areas:

• Collection: Focused on waste and recycables collection and transfer.
• Processing: Involves waste treatment, disposal, remediation, resource recovery, recycling and reuse. .

Individuals with this qualification are equipped to perform tasks in diverse settings, using established routines, methods, and procedures. They also develop the judgement needed to identify different waste types and manage associated hazards effectively.

Packaging Rules – 12 Units consisting of 3 Core and 9 Elective units 

Core Units – All Core units must be completed and cannot be changed.

• Identify and segregate waste
• Conduct waste resource recovery
• Identify and respond to hazards and emergencies in waste management

Elective Units 

• Ensure the safety of transport activites ( COR )
• Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
• Follow work health and safety procedures
• Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
• Store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances
• Maintain storage area for waste management equipment and consumables
• Receive, transfer and dispatch waste
• Process waste using plant
• Store and monitor contained waste
• Conduct Front End loader Operations
• Conduct Excavator Operations
• Conduct Skid Steer Operations
